Senior Prizegiving
With the 2024 season finished, it was time to celebrate our players' successes and our volunteers' hard work following another long season. Hosted at New Brew Bar & Restaurant, it was a chance for everyone to get together to cap off the year. As always, the team awards celebrated the on-field achievements, congratulations to all the winners from the teams that attended. Then we had the main club awards, celebrating the hard work of our volunteers who work so selflessly behind the scenes to make sure the club exists.
So who were the club award winners?
Team of the Year
This year, the Team of the Year award went to one of the most passionate teams you will ever see. Latin Auckland were new to the Albany ranks this year and from day one they displayed the values of this club on and off the field. So well done to them and we look forward to seeing them again next year!
Albany Ballon D'or Award
This award is given to a player that is a role model for the attitude, behaviour and club values that also inspires others around them to be better. It is given to a player in the senior teams that showcases what it means to be an Albany Utd player. This year, Paul O'Leary was that player, so congratulations Paul!
Bill Pittman Award
This award is given to someone who is a stalwart of the club. They are honourable, devoted, trustworthy and everything you want a club member to be. This year, that person was Rhys Burkitt. Congratulations Rhys and thank you for everything you do for the club.
Bert Albert Ford Award
Going to an outstanding person of the club who always places the club before everything else, this year, Callum Rowe showed everyone what that meant.
Len Snelling Award
This year, Raewyn Watts took home the Len Snelling award. You can always count on Raewyn to put the club members first and we appreciate everything she does for the club! Look forward to seeing her big smile behind the bar again next year.
Secretary Award
This award goes to someone who serves the club with honour, sacrifice and professionalism when dealing with the club, its people and processes. This year's winner, was Alvin Chung. Congratulations Alvin and thank you for all your hard work!
Club Captains Award
Presented to an outstanding young member of the club, this person exemplifies the qualities of what it means to be a club member. Always happy to help and support the club in any way possible, Nathan Irwin showcased those values this year.
Presidents Award
This award goes to a member who demonstrates exceptional integrity, selflessness, leadership and service towards the club. They also promote and foster the clubs purpose amongst it's members. This years winner was Garry Trewin. Always visible on game days and often around helping, Garry showcased exceptional service towards the club this year, so congratulations!
Congratulations to all the winners of the club and individual team awards. Prizegiving nights are a chance to celebrate success and say thanks to everyone who made the year what it was.
